Where Wildcats' Fisch Ranks Among Best in Pac-12 Against the Spread
Fact Checked by Michael Peters

It’s been a marathon of a rebuild for the Arizona Wildcats under the tutelage of coach Jedd Fisch.

Through it all, the Wildcats have seen their year-end win totals climb in each of Fisch’s first two seasons in Tucson, from 1-11 in 2021 to 5-7 a year ago.

This fall, oddsmakers at BetMGM Sportsbook Arizona pin Fisch and the Wildcats’ preseason win total at five, with the over listed at +115 and the under at -140.

To get a sense of where Fisch stacks up against the spread versus his Pac-12 colleagues, BetArizona.com utilized records from TeamRankings.com to determine which coaches have the best record ATS.

For this list, only games from the coach’s current stint were included. Games played as interim coach were not included. Teams with new coaches entering the 2023 season were not included.

Fisch Has Fair Share of ATS Struggles

The third-year Arizona coach ranks in a tie for last out of the nine Pac-12 coaches that have been with their programs for at least a season in ATS record, coming in at 12-12 overall.

Fisch tied UCLA’s Chip Kelly in ATS record, with Kelly going 27-27-2 against the number with the Bruins.

Overall, the top ATS coaches in the Conference of Champions were Washington’s Kalen DeBoer, Washington State’s Jake Dickert and Dan Lanning of Oregon (8-5, or 61.5% apiece), followed by Jonathan Smith of Oregon State (34-22-1, or 60.7%).

Looking forward, the Trojans (-165) are the leaders among preseason Pac-12 title favorites at Arizona betting apps, followed by Oregon (+135), Washington (+175), and UCLA, Oregon State and Utah (+350 apiece).

Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado are tied for ninth at +8000.
