Suns Rise to Top of Arizona Sports Betting NBA Title Favorites List
Fact Checked by Michael Peters

The Phoenix Suns took the next step in their continued ascendance from NBA cellar-dweller to title contender this week.

That’s because the Suns, who have the league’s best record (58-14), are the top NBA betting favorite to capture the 2022 championship on four major sportsbook sites, speaking to the team’s evolution under coach Monty Williams.

The Suns are four wins away from matching the franchise’s single-season wins record — set twice (1993 and 2005) — with 10 games to play.

Williams’ roster should get some added depth this week as well, with future Hall of Fame guard Chris Paul returning from a wrist injury that kept him out of the Suns’ lineup for 14 games.

Phoenix’s quest continues Wednesday night, with a road game against the 42-31 Minnesota Timberwolves in a game that tips off at 5 p.m. Arizona time.

Here’s an overview of the Suns’ Arizona sports betting odds.

Suns Atop the 2022 NBA Title Leaderboard

For the first time this season, the Suns find themselves alone atop the NBA title odds race.

At BetMGM Arizona the Suns sit at +320 to win it all, which is well ahead of the second-ranked Brooklyn Nets, who are at +550.

Caesars Sportsbook Arizona gives the Suns the longest odds of the four sites, putting them at +350 to hoist their first NBA championship trophy in franchise history, ahead of the +550 Nets.

The oddsmakers at DraftKings Sportsbook Arizona and FanDuel Sportsbook Arizona agree with BetMGM, placing the Suns at +320. DraftKings has the Nets (+475) at No. 2, while FanDuel has Golden State and the Nets in a tie for second at +600.

Devin Booker’s MVP Odds Update

Another storyline this year has been the phenomenal play of guard Devin Booker, who ranks 11th in the NBA in scoring (25.9 PPG) and is hitting 37.6% of his 3-pointers.

The former Kentucky Wildcat is listed at +8000 to win the NBA MVP on DraftKings Sportsbook, +10000 on FanDuel Sportsbook, and +12500 at BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook.

Only two members of the Suns — Charles Barkley and Steve Nash — have won the NBA MVP award, with Nash doing so in 2006, and Sir Charles in 1993.

Suns a Slight Road Favorite Wednesday

The Suns’ season-long odyssey continues in Minneapolis on Wednesday, in a clash between the Western Conference’s No. 1 and No. 7 teams.

The 42-31 Timberwolves already have their most wins in a season in five years, trying to chase down the 2017-18 team that finished 47-35.

That squad was the last Minnesota team to qualify for the NBA Playoffs, losing in the first round.

As for Wednesday night’s game, Arizona sports betting apps have the Suns as a slight favorite, with lines ranging from -1 (DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook) to -1.5 (BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook).

For those looking to make a moneyline wager, Caesars Sportsbook has the longest odds for the Suns (-125). BetMGM is -120, FanDuel Sportsbook Arizona is -116, and DraftKings Sportsbook has the Suns at -115.
