The Arizona Diamondbacks have a new casino partner for the 2022 MLB regular season.
The D-backs and longtime Valley staple Casino Arizona — and their sister property Talking Stick Resort and Casino — announced their partnership last week.
The two sides previously partnered at Salt River Fields, where the D-backs and Colorado Rockies play their Cactus League games.
The Diamondbacks have a mobile Arizona sports betting partnership with Caesars. Caesars Sportsbook is scheduled to open its permanent retail location in the former Game 7 Grill on the northwest side of Chase Field sometime this summer.
How D-backs, Casino Arizona Partnership Developed
Scottsdale’s Salt River Fields opened on land belonging to the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community — which owns and operates Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort — in 2011, establishing a bond between the two sides that led up to last week’s partnership, according to D-backs President and CEO Derrick Hall.
“I am thrilled to welcome Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort to our family,” Hall said in the team’s press release. “The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community has long been a valued partner of the Arizona Diamondbacks, and I look forward to growing our relationship with Casino Arizona, creating memorable experiences for their guests at Chase Field and impacting members of their community.”
As part of the casino’s deal with the D-backs, the enterprise will have exclusive signage throughout Chase Field, in addition to a brand-new Casino Arizona VIP lounge behind the visiting dugout for the casino’s staff and guests to enjoy during the team’s games.
“We are always looking for like-minded organizations with which to align our Enterprise,” Ramon Martinez, who serves as the director of public relations for Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort, said in the press release. “Over the course of our lengthy relationship with the Arizona Diamondbacks, they have demonstrated a true commitment to their fans and the greater community. We are excited for Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort to grow with a partner who shares our values.”
The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community did not receive a new Arizona sports betting apps license and do not have a retail sportsbook partner.
Diamondbacks Look to Continue Surprising Start
On the diamond, the D-backs have been better than expected out of the gate, with an 18-18 record.
But some of Arizona’s early luck ran out against the Chicago Cubs last weekend, with the D-backs losing three of four — knocking them back to the .500 mark for the year.
The D-backs look to get back on track against the first place L.A. Dodgers on the road Tuesday in Game 2 of their three-game series, a night after they fell 5-4.
Caesars Sportsbook has the D-backs at +180 Tuesday, with a +1.5 (-110) spread on the game.
The Emperor also has the D-backs at +40000 in MLB betting to win the World Series, with Arizona ranking 25th.
