The last decade has been anything but kind to fans of the Arizona Cardinals, with three playoff appearances and one postseason victory — a divisional round victory over Green Bay in 2015.
Fresh off consecutive 4-13 campaigns and holding the No. 4 pick in April’s NFL Draft, it’s almost time for Arizona to find their next generational star to join the likes of Larry Fitzgerald, Kyler Murray, Budda Baker and Chandler Jones in the franchise’s record books.
ESPN’s Field Yates projects Ohio State star wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. to land in Glendale with that fourth pick, although Arizona sportsbooks give Harrison the third best odds (+1500) of going first overall in the draft.
With the offseason in full swing, it allows us to take a step back and look at some fun historic takes on the NFL franchise — like the always loved Mount Rushmore.

bet365 Arizona lists San Francisco as the Super Bowl favorite at +500, followed by back-to-back champion Kansas City at +700.
Patrick Peterson Headlines Cardinals' Mount Rushmore
While some Cardinals fans would expect a franchise cornerstone like Fitzgerald to be on any Mount Rushmore, the 17-year pro had an approximate value of 52 between 2014 and his retirement in 2020, falling just shy of Jones’ total of 56.
The leader in AV for the Cardinals was defensive back Patrick Peterson, who put up 63 AV in his final seven seasons with Arizona between 2014 and 2020. Murray’s 62 AV between 2019 and 2023 ranked second and Baker’s 57 AV were third. Arizona sports betting apps list Murray as +5000 to win NFL most valuable player honors next season.
Of the four, Peterson (No. 5 in 2011), Murray (No. 1 in 2019) and Baker (No. 36 in 2016) were drafted by the Cardinals, while Jones was taken with the 21st pick of the 2012 NFL Draft by New England out of Syracuse.
Still, Fitzgerald’s career total of 138 AV ranks atop the Cardinals’ all-time list, ahead of Jim Hart (131 AV), Larry Wilson (121 AV), Roger Wehrli (118 AV) and Peterson (118 AV), speaking to the longevity the first round pick out of Pittsburgh displayed during his nearly 20-year career in the Valley.
