Which Pro Team is Arizonaās Favorite Right Now?
Being the only professional sports team in the state thatās won a championship at Arizona sportsbooks in the last 15 years wasnāt enough to help propel the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA up the statewide popularity charts, apparently.
Suns Take Popularity Crown
Thatās because the Mercury, despite their three WNBA titles between 2007 and 2014, finished well behind a trio of menās professional sports teams in the Arizona popularity standings this year, with the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals and Arizona Diamondbacks finishing ahead of them in spots 1 through 3.
Based on the search volume generated by each team, we can assess that the Suns are Arizonaās favorite collective of professional athletes, as the NBA stalwarts generated 823,000 in volume during the period in question. That's likely the only title this current edition of the Suns will win in 2025, as the Kevin Durant-led squad has underachieved this season in the loaded Western Conference.
Still, that total put the Suns ahead of the Cardinals, who had a search volume total of 673,000 during the period in question, while the Diamondbacks placed a distant third in the Grand Canyon State with a search volume total of 550,000.
