Arizona State March Madness Odds 2025: Chances Sun Devils’ Men’s Basketball Make The NCAA Tournament

Fact Checked by Thomas Leary

The first season of Big 12 men’s basketball has not gone well so far for the Arizona State Sun Devils, who went from the high of a 9-2 non-conference record to the lows of a 1-4 start to conference play, with head coach Bobby Hurley coming off consecutive losses to Kansas, Baylor and UCF.

Those defeats have knocked ASU to the “first four out” list on ESPN bracket guru Joe Lunardi’s latest update, while stats expert Ken Pomeroy has the Sun Devils all the way down at No. 60 in his latest rankings, illustrating how far the Tempe university has fallen in Hurley’s 10th season with the program.

With that in mind, BetArizona.com broke down the latest odds on ASU’s chance of making the field of 68 in 2025, with those odds currently stacked against Hurley and company making it into the bracket this spring across Arizona sports betting.

All signs indicate that ASU will be on the outside looking in once again when Selection Sunday arrives, as we currently are giving the Sun Devils +180 odds of making the Big Dance, compared with -180 odds that they miss the tournament once again.

In Hurley’s first nine seasons with the school, ASU has made the field three times, getting bounced in the first round twice (2019 and 2023) to go with a “First Four” defeat in 2018. Arizona State’s last trip to the second round of the Big Dance came under Hurley’s predecessor (Herb Sendek) in 2014, with ASU’s last Sweet 16 run being under Bill Frieder in 1995.

This spring, the Sun Devils will need to turn the corner in Big 12 play to even make the field of 68, as ASU enters the meat of their conference calendar looking up at a 1-4 record and needing to gain ground quickly to avoid another dismal Selection Sunday in the East Valley this March.
