What Are Arizona’s Top 5 Cheese Products?

Fact Checked by Thomas Leary

There aren’t many Americans that turn the other cheek when it comes to foods that are made from the dairy aisle staple known as cheese, with Grand Canyon State residents having their share of favorites.

Whether it be a dessert favorite like cheesecake or a hearty main course dish like macaroni and cheese, Arizonans have their go-to choices down pat when it comes to cheese, though the dessert standard is a clear top choice among 48th State residents in 2025.

That’s because cheesecake managed to score a search interest score victory in Arizona, walloping other favorites like macaroni and cheese, cheeseburgers, cheese pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches.

National Cheese Lovers Day is celebrated in the United States on January 20, 2025. At BetArizona.com - home to all things Arizona sports betting - we used Google Trends to see which cheese-based foods are most popular in Arizona. The search period was on Jan.7, 2005 and we then ranked the list based on search interest score.

What is Arizona’s Favorite Cheese Dish?

With a search interest score of 59 points, cheesecake was the cheesy tour de force in Arizona this year, nearly tripling the next closest food item, that being macaroni and cheese, which finished with a total of 24 points in the Grand Canyon State during the period in question.

Mac and cheese did manage to finish well ahead of the other three cheese-laden food items that made the cut this year, with cheeseburgers holding down the third spot with a score of 10 points, while cheese pizza and grilled cheese finished in a tie for fourth overall in Arizona, with search interest scores of eight points apiece.

Overall, no cheesy food dish held the type of statewide sway that cheesecake did in Arizona, though, with the New York dessert staple winning over the hearts, minds and stomachs of Arizonans in 2025.
